Perfect for reunions, company picnics, weddings, and bus tour groups

How are group visits scheduled?
Please call 1-800-790-2665 to reserve your visit. Smoky Hill Bison Co. offers tours out to see the buffalo herd and/or meals to prearranged groups, families, etc of 12 or more. We'll check to be sure the date is available, and fill out a reservation form for your tours, meals, and special accommodations.

When are tours available?
The best time for tours is Spring through Fall. The new calves are bouncing around, the grass is green, and the weather is usually cooperative to be outside for the tour. Meals for groups are scheduled year round.

What can we expect when we visit?
We'll welcome you on the porch and give you a little time to stretch and visit the ADA restrooms before we load for the tour, or start the meal. Slide presentations can be given in case of bad weather, or for an evening program with the meal.

Meals can be served inside, or out on the porch, depending on your preference and the weather. You can also just stop for a meal, see the buffalo from the porch view, and travel on.

What are the Tour Rates?
Group tours (12 or more people) into the herd are $7 for adults, $5 per children ages 4-12, three and under ride free with paying adult. The Prairie Tram, with easy ramp loading for both people and wheel chairs, holds up to 40-48+ passengers, depending on the number of adults/children in the group.

For motor coach bus tours: Complimentary tours and meals are given to your bus drivers and escorts. Adult motor coach tour bus passengers also receive a $1 Gift Certificate to be used in the Gift Shop after the tour.

How do we pay for our visit?
For groups that are booked in advance, a $50 deposit is required when your group's visit is reserved. The deposit is refundable up to fourteen days prior to your scheduled visit. Cancellations after that time are not refundable.

When arriving, please pay the balance of the costs for the group with a single check or credit card. Please note that you will pay for the number of pre-ordered meals, even if they are not eaten.

Can we rent your Visitors Center for a meeting or an event?
Yes, the main room, commercial kitchen, and porch in our rural center are available year round to rent for meetings, parties, weddings, or conferences at the rate of $150 per half day (3-4 hrs), $250 per day (4-8 hrs), or $50 for evening meeting (2 hours) with additional services extra. The main room seats 60, plus we can seat another 40+ on the outside porch.

Weddings: Building rental for weddings is $350, which includes the evening before for a rehearsal if needed. Extra fees may include tent, outside seating, and any food ordered for rehearsal or wedding meals.

What are our meal options  for groups?
1. Fully catered meals are available for 20 or more people- $12 to 25 per meal. We will fax or email you the menu to make your selection of each entrée of Buffalo dish, potatoes, vegetables, salads, breads, desserts, and drinks.

2. Buffalo Sandwich Meal for 12 or more people- Choice of one sandwich for the group, (either Buffalo Burger, BBQ Buffalo, or BuffaJoe), potato salad, relishes, chips, cookies & drinks- $7 per meal. Slice of pie instead of cookies for $2 more.

3. Buffalo Breakfast Buffet of casserole, fruit, pastries and drinks- $8 per meal.

4. Snack tray of cookies, pastries, or summer sausage/cheese/crackers with drinks are also available for groups. $3 to 5 per person.

Fall Evening Information

Does your group want to visit during our fall Maze and Pumpkin Patch season?
Your group may join in with the Friday night maze, or weekend crowd to get to do everything on the farm. The group rate is $6 for 20 or more people.

We can schedule a evening meal for you too. Please let us know a week ahead of time if possible so we can have it ready for your visit.
Picnic areas around the farm are also available to use.

During the week in October
You can also schedule groups of 20 or more Monday through Thursday evenings in October. This is a great time to have a business or church get-together.

Call 1-800-790-2665 or email now to schedule your fall field trips during Sept 16 to Oct. 31, 2008. You have a choice for a two hour time slot on Tuesdays through Fridays (rain dates on Mondays), between 9 am to 2 pm. Please have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd day and time choice when you contact us.
